For the past year I have been working on the conservation treatment of the 2,100 BC Egyptian coffin of the scribe Nakht, from the ancient city of Asyut. Due to time constraints, this blog has unfortunately been inactive. I encourage anyone interested in this project to follow along on my Instagram account here.
This project has enabled myself and Dr. Nancy Odegaard, Head of the Preservation Division and conservator at the Arizona State Museum, to develop several novel treatment and materials characterization methodologies we hope will contribute to the field of conservation of Egyptian artifacts.
